The Leigh Mills Car Park
Another major step in the creation of a new entertainment and living quarter for Coventry city centre takes place this week.

Belgrade Plaza, a new £100 million development of apartments, hotels, bars and restaurants is being created on the site between the Belgrade Theatre and the Ring Road.

The Leigh Mills Car Park is being extended to take just under 1,100 vehicles, almost doubling existing car parking from present levels, and will feature new lifts and a much improved environment.

The management of the multi-storey car park will be transferred from Coventry City Council to the developers of Belgrade Plaza, Oakmoor Deeley on August 27. The multi-storey car park will close on 2nd October when the construction works will start and re-open in summer 2006.

Alternative car parking has been provided in the former coach park in White Street, available to season ticket and duty passholders on weekdays and to the general public on weekends. Bond Street, off Junction 9 of the Ring Road, will still offer 350 public parking spaces.
